Montréal Auto Prix was founded in 1998 by Ian Obidniak and Richard Martin, two visionary businessmen from Montréal who decided to become partners in order to revolutionize the retail car industry in Quebec and to offer consumers the lowest prices in Canada. Since its creation, Montréal Auto Prix has completely revolutionized the process of buying a used vehicle in terms of quality and even more so, of prices. Through an innovative idea and approach, the company has forever changed the automobile industry in Quebec and is now the leader in used vehicle sales.

Our business model
The innovative business model developed by Montréal Auto Prix is based on high volume sales with low profit.

More specifically, our business model is based on the following three components:

Fixed price, low profit, high volume

Montréal Auto Prix records 12 times more transactions than a traditional business in the industry and makes a profit that is 10 times lower per vehicle sold. For instance, we sell 1 car every 4 minutes on new arrivals days, which is more than the number of cars the biggest car delearship sells in one month.

Through its quick transaction centres, Montréal Auto Prix strives to lower its operating expenses for each vehicle as much as possible. In order to do so, vehicles are temporarily placed in either of our two branches, which are in fact warehouses. Moreover, the fact that we receive lots one to four hours after they have been purchased and the quick selling of vehicles (within 24 to 72 hours) greatly contribute to driving down operating expenses associated to each vehicle.

Following our innovative high volume, low profit sales approach enables us to eliminate intermediaries and excessive commissions, reduce fixed costs, eliminate depreciation and the cost of financing, and thus, offer the lowest prices in Canada.
